Happy 3rd Birthday Joey Z!!!!!!!

Joey had a very Disney 3rd Birthday! My goodness, where on earth have three years gone! We went to Disney and stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for a week to celebrate Joey's birthday and we had a great time. Disney really makes your birthday wonderful!!!!! Here is Joey giving me a wink the morning of his birthday waiting for the boat to take us to the Magic Kingdom.

I ordered us all custom t-shirts available at Disney Shopping Online the only problem was that I ordered them a month ahead and Joey had a big growth spurt...ooppps. I even let it hang dry to try and stretch it out : ) However, on the upside the kid is now tall enough (40 inches) to ride most roller coasters at Disney!!!

On the morning of his birthday we went to the Grand Floridian for the 1900 Park Fare Character Breakfast and it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are looking to dine with Tigger and Pooh I would always choose this breakfast!!! We saw them several times along with other great characters. Joey and Tigger giving thumbs up

So happy to see Pooh Bear

Our family

Joey was not so sure about the Mad Hatter... neither was I : ~

Then they delivered his cake to the table, boy did it look good! But we were all stuffed and decided to go to Magic Kingdom and pick it up later. The Disney bakery did a GREAT JOB!!!!!!!

We took the Monorail to the park and scored a spot in the conductors cabin up front. This is a service they provide at no charge and it is always worth asking if the space is free. They even give the kids a co-pilot badge

Joey wanted to ride Goofy's Barnstormer roller coaster about a million times, in fact we went through so many times in a row the attendant gave him a frequent flyer badge : ) He just laughs and laughs and then when we get off says "lets do it one more again"

Joey mid-ride....you can see he loves it!

Of course it would not be a trip to Disney without Joey getting his face painted....WOOF-WOOF

and the next day to match his hat

The night before his bday we went to Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness for dinner. Fort Wilderness is AWESOME! The show was okay. Joey really loved the cowboy rope show and seeing the characters, but the food was average and parents were VERY PUSHY towards the characters. Next time to see characters in a nice relaxed atmosphere we will go for an actual sit-down restaurant like Chef Mickeys or Liberty Tree Tavern.

Joey made a friend named Josh visiting from England (we LOVE running into English people at Disney..they are all very polite and easy going : ) and they kept trying to jump up on the stage before the show

Josh and Joey doing the twist next to Goofy

This cowboys rope tricks made a big impression on Joey. The tricks were awesome!!

While waiting for the show to start Joey rode Cricket the pony at the Disney Stables in Fort Wilderness. It was a great deal at only $4/ride.

As I already said we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge which is absolutely gorgeous (however their Customer Service does leave something to be desired). Here is a pic of the inside of the lobby (and one impatient Bill : ) and Joey in front of one of the Totum Poles

When we checked in Mickey had left a gift basket for Joey's birthday. He loved it!

In fact he loved it so much that we went to lunch and he refused to take off his Mickey Gloves : ) We ate at the Whispering Canyon a wonderful restaurant inside W. Lodge. In fact, we ate here 3 times during our stay. The food is awesome and the atmosphere even better.

When our waitress saw it was Joey's bday she stood him up and announced it to the whole restaurant, they all sang Happy Birthday and brought him his own little cake.

We got a room with bunk beds and Joey loved them, here he is posing on the top bunk (of course, this is in our first room which was next to the elevator...which made the ceiling fan and light fixtures shake ALL NIGHT every time the elevator moved : )

Joey and Bill in the pool with the lodge behind them, very pretty. They also have a water slide which we all put to good use.

Joey playing in the creek that runs into the pool, very cool!

Lots of rabbits on property and Joey got this one to eat a carrot from his hand

Another good pic of the lodge and my boys

Joey opening his bday cards, the first card was from Mom and Da and sang the Mickey Mouse Club sing and Joey was singing along

An awesome 3-D Pirate card from Martha and Rick

A truck card and Toys-R-us gift card from Mimi and Grampy

Then it was time to eat the cake, yum yum!!! Mickeys ears, eyes, nose and mouth were chocolate!!!

The room all decked out when he woke up the morning of his bday

Another delivery from Mickey for Joey's bday. The Disney Florist did a great job on the items we ordered for his bday : )

We weren't home 10 minutes when Joey had to get on the road again and try his new scooter out : ) Such a big boy now!

Disney is really TOTALLY AWESOME at making birthdays wonderful. Everyone said Happy Birthday to Joey and made his day (and week) really special. I am so overjoyed that I get to be the Mother of such a great boy and share these wonderful years with him as he grows up.

Stay tuned....up next Joey's Dinosaur 3rd Birthday Party

Bill's Class Reunion in TN

This summer we went "home" to Tn for Bill's 20th Class Reunion and had a great time! The Class of '88 really did it up right with a picnic, golf tourney, bowling and a cocktail party.

Here is Bill and Joey doing the water balloon toss at the Class Picnic, lots of other familiar faces there like Greg Addington, Cindy Truex, etc...
Joey flirting with older girls at the picnic : )
Then we joined our pals Jacob and Benjamin for some rainy day fun at The Children's Museum of Oak Ridge. Joey was SO glad to see his pals! and I was happy to see my pal, their Mom Donnie : ) The museum has done an AWESOME JOB of updating and expanding their exhibits.

At first Joey was really leery of the giant Polar Bear. The funny thing is I can remember being scared of it as a girl also : ) Surreal for to take my child where I grew up!!
A group hug!
WAIT!!!! Is that a man doing to dishes?????
He found a piano of course
I can remember playing in this space ship!!!!
We stayed with Bill's Nana and Joey just went crazy for his Nana : ) He insisted she ride in the back with him and he would hold her hand...very sweet!
and if you think he is crazy for Nana you should have seen the kid with Kelsey, it was "Kelsey this and Kelsey that"
they were even snuggle-bugs together
Of course that is not to discount his other GORGEOUS and very grown up cousins, Tiffany and Whitney!!!
Happy BDAY BENJAMIN!!! Then for Benjamin (Roberts) bday we all went to eat at a Japanese Steakhouse and boy was it really cool. Not to mention Joey LOVES Benjamin and Nicholas, he sat there with them the whole time just like he was one of their big boy crew
Our chef spinning eggs, Joey thought this was SO AWESOME!!
What would a trip to TN be without visiting Grandmother and Grandaddy Fox, Joey giving Grandmother some good lovin'
Grandaddy teasing Joey and wearing his Thomas Conductor Hat
Joey taking it back : )
